The After Birth Doula
About The After Birth Doula
Motherhood changes everything. And yet so much of the support seems to disappear once the baby arrives. Pregnancy is filled with appointments, checkups, and excitement from everyone around you, but after birth many mothers are suddenly expected to figure it all out on their own. The Afterbirth Doula was created to help fill that gap, offering compassionate support during pregnancy, postpartum and the early stages of motherhood.
Sam Clarke
Certified Postpartum Doula &Hyperemesis Support Doula
I became a postpartum doula because I truly believe mothers deserve more support than they often receive. After a baby is born, the focus naturally shifts to the newborn, but mothers need care too. They need someone who sees them, supports them and acknowledges that postpartum recovery can be both beautiful and challenging.
As a mother of three boys myself, I understand how transformative this season of life can be. My goal is to offer calm, practical, and compassionate support so families feel less alone as they adjust to life with a new baby.
My work also includes supporting mothers experiencing severe pregnancy sickness, including hyperemesis. Having endured three hyperemesis pregnancies myself, I understand the physical and emotional toll it can take. Through The Afterbirth Doula, I hope to offer even a small light to mothers navigating this incredibly difficult experience.
My Philosophy
Support during pregnancy and postpartum should be honest, compassionate and centered on the needs of the mother and family.
I believe mothers deserve to be cared for just as deeply as their babies.
Motherhood is a profound transformation. When a baby is born, a mother is born too, and that transition deserves time, patience, and support. My role as a doula is to help families navigate this shift with guidance, reassurance, and practical care.
I approach my work with warmth, honesty, and respect for each family's unique experience. Whether you need hands on support at home, help navigating feeding or newborn care, or simply someone who understands the realities of postpartum and pregnancy challenges, my goal is to create a space where you feel supported and understood.
The Afterbirth Doula was created to talk about everything that happens after birth, not just the postpartum recovery, but the deeper journey of motherhood, identity, and family life. Becoming a mother changes you in profound ways, and no one should have to walk that path without support.
